ALISON'S STORY

Meet the Host

Alison Kartevold is an award-winning journalist with a career that has spanned 30 years and five countries. She has made documentaries aired on PBS and worked as a producer and reporter for Network News outlets including NBC, ABC, and CBS. Her work has also been acknowledged by the Emmy, Iris, and Gracie awards.

When her two daughters were in grade school, Alison wrote them their very own fairytale, for which the girls helped make up characters and plotlines. Eventually, Alison turned their story into a book that was published as a young adult novel by The Artists' Orchard in 2011. KenKarta: Battle of the Onoxmon was a recipient of the Moonbeam Children's Book Awards and was also honored by FlamingNet Young Adult Book Reviews.

Alison was born and raised in the Northwest but has lived in eight different states from coast to coast. She currently lives in Cleveland, Ohio with her husband of 29 years.
